Eid-ul-Adha: Yahaya Seriki distributes rams to muslim faithful, preaches sacrifice, unity
Chairman of Kursi Investment Limited, Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki has again demonstrated his longstanding commitment to humanitarian service as he distributed hundreds of Sallah rams and cows to Muslim faithful ahead of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The annual gesture, which has become a tradition widely anticipated by beneficiaries across communities, was carried out amid prayers and commendations from religious leaders, community stakeholders, political associates, women groups and youths who gathered to receive the items.
The distribution exercise, held in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude, saw less privilege, Islamic clerics, community leaders, party loyalists and vulnerable families benefit from the donation aimed at enabling Muslims celebrate the sacred festival with dignity and happiness.
Seriki, who is a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, said the essence of Eid-ul-Adha goes beyond merriment, stressing that the festival symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, love, compassion and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
He explained that the yearly distribution of rams and cows was borne out of his desire to support Muslim faithful, especially those who may not have the financial means to perform the symbolic sacrifice associated with the celebration.
According to him, sharing with the people during festive periods remains one of the greatest acts of worship and humanity, particularly at a time many families are facing economic challenges.
“Eid-ul-Adha teaches us the importance of sacrifice, kindness and obedience to Allah. As Muslims, we must continue to care for one another, support the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of unity within our communities,” he said.
He added that he considers it necessary to consistently reach out to the people because leadership is fundamentally about service, compassion and responsibility to humanity.
He noted that helping people celebrate religious festivals comfortably not only brings joy to families but also promotes peace, unity and social harmony in society.
Seriki further urged wealthy individuals and public office holders to cultivate the habit of giving back to society, emphasizing that Allah blesses people not for personal enjoyment alone but to become instruments of support to others.
Delivering his Eid message to Muslim faithful, he admonished Nigerians to embrace the lessons of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice by remaining steadfast in faith, patient in difficult times and committed to peaceful coexistence.
He called on Muslims to avoid hatred, violence and division, while encouraging them to continue praying for Nigeria’s peace, progress and economic stability.
“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, let us remember that sacrifice is not only about slaughtering rams. It is also about sacrificing personal interests for peace, showing love to neighbours, forgiving one another and extending hands of support to those in need,” he stated.
He further encouraged youths to remain focused, disciplined and law-abiding, advising them not to allow themselves to be used for violence, criminality or actions capable of threatening the peace of society.
Seriki also appealed to Nigerians to continue promoting religious tolerance and national unity irrespective of ethnic, political or religious differences.
He further offered special prayers for lasting peace and improved security in Kwara State amid growing concerns over insecurity in some parts of the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and continue praying for divine intervention to restore total peace and tranquility across affected communities.
He stressed that peace and security remain critical to meaningful development, calling on citizens to promote unity, lawful conduct and collective responsibility in addressing the security challenges confronting the state.
