Eid-el-Kabir: Osun govt launches free train service from Lagos

The Government of Osun State has officially announced a free train service to help residents return home for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.

According to the announcement, the service will be operational from Thursday, May 5, through Tuesday, May 10, 2025.

The free ‘homecoming train’ is scheduled to depart from the Iddo train terminus in Lagos at 10 a.m. on Thursday, proceeding to Osogbo. Additionally, the return trip from Osogbo to Lagos will also leave at 10 a.m. on the following Tuesday.

This initiative aims to facilitate easier travel for Osun indigenes during the festive season, allowing them to reunite with family and partake in the celebrations.

This marks another instance of the state government’s commitment to providing free train services, a program they have been implementing since 2017 to assist citizens across the Southwest region during Sallah festivities.
