Eid-el-fitri: FG declares Tuesday, Wednesday as public holidays

The Federal Government, on Sunday, declared Tuesday, 9 and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako, congratulated all Muslims for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

The Minister also called on them to imbibe and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, and compassion, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

He urged Nigerians to continue in the spirit of unity to improve and achieve peace and oneness in the country.
