A 53 year old man, Muhammed Bolaji Abdulraheem has been nabbed by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for offences related to impersonation and extortion of money from unsuspecting clients.
Abdulraheem was alleged to have craftily duped his client, Mallam Yusuf Bello of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000)
Bello in his petition to the EFCC, alleged that Barrister Abdulraheem recovered the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira from his debtor and claimed that the money was in the custody of the EFCC.
When confronted with the complainant in the matter, the Lawyer, however, opened up and confessed that the money was never brought to the EFCC neither did the Commission knows anything about it.
The Story metamorphosed into a melodrama on Monday, September 30, 2019, when the suspect, in a dramatic way mutilated his statement where he admitted that he was called to the Nigeria Bar and have been in the legal business for over 20 years.
This happened when the Commission found out that the self acclaimed lawyer never attended the Nigerian Law School as he failed the prescribed examinations twice.
The suspect will soon be arraigned before before a lawcourt.
