EFCC intercepts N32.4m for vote buying in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stopped the sum of N32.4 million in Lagos State.

The funds were suspected to have been arranged for vote buying in the state.

The anti-graft agency confirmed the development in a statement released on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The suspect who was found with the money is now in the custody of the anti-graft agency.

The bundles of N1,000 notes could be seen in a photo which accompanied the statement released by the agency.

The Informant247 understands that the presidential election would take place in Nigeria, West Africa on Saturday February 25, 2023.

The leading candidates in the presidential election are Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC; Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP; Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP; Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP among other presidential candidates.
