The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arraigned the Speaker of House of Assembly in Ogun State, Olakunle Oluomo, over alleged diversion of N2.5 billion belonging to the Assembly.
Others arraigned who were alongside the Speaker of the Assembly were the Clerk of the House, Taiwo Adeyemo, and the Director of Finance, Oladayo Samuel.
They have been arraigned before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court Lagos.
The anti-financial crime agency had made accusation that Oluomo and others had forged receipts, and signatures while diverting huge amounts of money, running into billions of Naira.
The suspects have pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge leveled against them.
The court has granted the Speaker of the Assembly and others bail.
The Speaker of House of Assembly in Ogun State, the first defendant, has been granted bail in the sum of N300 million, with two sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties, according to. the court, must be a civil servant of Level-16 in the Federal Civil Service.
The other defendants have been granted bail in the sum of N100 million each, with two sureties each in like sum, one of whom must not be lower than a Level-14 civil servant.
The court has said that all the sureties must have landed properties within the jurisdiction of the court, with three-year tax clearance evidence, while swearing to an affidavit of means.
Oluomo and other defendants were directed to submit their travel documents at the court registry.
