An Ilorin magistrate court has ordered the remand of one dismissed member of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Ajisafe Tokunbo, for allegedly defrauding one Raji Jimoh of Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, to the tune of six hundred and seventy three thousand naira.
Tokunbo was said to have paraded himself as a sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to the complainant, thereby defrauding him of the said amount with the pretence to help him use his office to secure job in the commission.
Meanwhile, investigation conducted at the Anti Fraud Unit Department of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) revealed that Tokunbo has been dismissed from the corps since 2007.
The prosecuting counsel, Barrister Ajide Kehinde, urged the court to remand Tokunbo on the basis that offences leveled against him is not ordinarily bailable.
Magistrate O.A Idiagbon, who presided over the matter, ceded to the prayer of the force’s counsel, while the matter was adjourned to next week Wednesday.
