Customs generates N7bn at Lagos Airport in 2022

The authority Nigeria Customs Service in charge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, has on Wednesday, said it generated N7.02 billion in revenue in the last 100 days as against N6.8 billion it collected in the same period last year.

It said the differential in revenue collected within the period under review represents a 3.24 per cent increase.

Addressing journalists on the revenue profile of the command, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Malami Gidado, said November 2022 was another productive month in the annals of Murtala Muhammed International Airport command.

He revealed that N1.96 billion was the revenue the command collected in November 2022.

According to him, the command recorded a significant increase of N350.64 million in revenue collected as compared to what it collected in October 2022.

Gidado enjoined sister agencies at the MMIA to collaborate with the Nigeria Customs Service to ensure the blockage of all possible avenues leakages.
