Crisis rocks Zango ward APC as faction disown BOB, swear allegiance to Gov. AbdulRazaq

It was a scintillating scene to behold on Sunday, 2nd February at the Pake L.G.E.A Primary School as a major crisis has hit the All Progressives Congress in Zango ward, Ilorin East Local Government with members of the party singing in discordant tunes.

The Informant247 gathered that the crisis currently rocking the party in ward erupted immediately after the recently concluded general elections which saw the party clinch victory in all the elective offices vied for.

It was revealed that the party was built on tripartite treaty involving Oyedepo Akogun, Abiodun Fagbemi and Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa’s factions.

The intra-party quagmire sprang up as a result of excesses of some party members who were said assumed the position of Alpha and Omega of the party, they alleged that some individuals lorded over largesse and employment slots alloted to the ward. One of the disgruntled bigwigs of the party in ward, Mallam Bande Garaje Hakim averred that Alhaji Hassan Dauda popularly known as Hassada Motors diverted over One Million Naira earmarked for mobilisation of voters for APC in the 2019 general elections, accusing him of propagating anti party agenda as a result of his influence in the party.

He further vented his anger at how some individuals in the ward cornered over thirty kwara State NDE slots shortchanging those at the forefront of Liberation Vanguard precedent to the general elections without accountability.

Corroborating this claim was the ward’s women leader, Hajia Oladimeji Bashirat as she recounted how she was physically harassed by Oba Kabido who belongs to Abubakar Kannike’s faction, noting that Alhaji Hassan Dauda informed the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed of their unalloyed loyalty to Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman and the minister was alleged to have ordered the arrest of some party members whose allegiance were traced to Governor AbdulRazaq -it was against this instruction that the party’s women leader, Local Government’s PRO and youth leaders of various zones of the ward were locked up by the police.

Consequent upon these seemingly ugly developments, some aggrieved members of the party within the ward have agreed to withdraw from the party, partitioning it into two factions.

In his declaration, an APC stalwart, Alhaji Nasir Ubandawaki expressed his frustration that he and likes of Hajia Zainab Sanni; Karim Salami (aka Miller); Ali Oloko; Hon. Issa Aliu; Ubaidu Nasir; Kayode Yusuf Bolanta; Alhaji Damilare Gbagba; Mallam Bande Garaje Hakim and other chieftains of the party in Zango ward can no longer continue with the status quo thereby held a parallel congress and announced Lukman Kabido as their faction’s chairman.

He further reiterated the faction’s unabridged support for the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, praying for the Governor to succeed in his endeavour to deliver the dividends of democracy to the doorstep of every kwaran.

With the current political realities, Abubakar Kannike remains a faction chairman of the APC in the ward.

This brewing political skirmish, if not swiftly resolved may ignite the already existing hassle within the party’s hierarchy in the state.
