COVID-19: Kwara returns 30 Ibadan-bound travellers from Kano

Kwara State Government on Wednesday ordered the return of 30 travellers from the North intercepted at Kwara-Niger border in Jebba by the state police command.

The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Technical Committee on Coronavirus, Mr Kayode Alabi gave the directive during the pararde of the 30 travellers.

Alabi noted that the government would not allow anyone to further import coronavirus into the state.

On his part, the Kwara state police commissioner, Mr Kayode Egbetokun explained that the driver claimed to have bribed his way through the borders into the state.

Egbetokun said that the bus and its passengers left Kano yesterday for Ibadan before the men of Nigeria police force with other security agents at the border arrested it for violating the interstate travel ban.
