Court sentences man to 6 years imprisonment for stealing N1.2m in Ogun

A 21-year-old man, Michael Fagbenro, was on Friday, sentenced to six years and one month imprisonment over theft of N1.2 million.

Fagbenro was sentenced on Friday sentenced by an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun.

Fagbenro, whose address of residence was not disclosed, had pleaded guilty to charges  of stealing, burglary and damages.

Mrs A. O. Adeyemi, who’s the Magistrate,  sentenced Fagbenro without any option of fine.

Insp E.O. Adaraloye, who’s the prosecutor earlier, the prosecutor, informed the court that the convict carried out the offences on Oct. 6 at 10.30 a.m. at Ideheba  Onibukun area of Ota.

He revealed that the convict illegally invaded the apartment of the complainant, Mr Popoola Omotoke, and illegally took away N1.2 million cash and unlawfully destroyed a window net worth N7,500 and that the offences contravene Sections 390  and 411and 415 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
