Court sentences man to 2 months imprisonment for stealing 3 mobile phones, valuables
Agu John, a 46-year-old man has been sentenced to two months imprisonment over theft of three mobile phones and other items worth N594,000.
John was sentenced by an Ogun Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The suspect, whose address of residence was not revealed, has pleaded guilty to theft and burglary.
A. O. Adeyemi, who’s the Magistrate while ruling sentenced the suspect to term of imprisonment without any option of fine.
Earlier, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the convict carried out the offence on Sept.9 at about 2 a.m. at Asoore Village, Ota.
The Prosecution Counsel revealed that the convict unlawfully invaded the house of Adenekan Akeem and went away with three mobile phones and other items worth N594, 000.
He revealed that the offence is in contravention of the provisions of sections 390 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
