Court restrains Kwara FA from holding June 13 elections
An upper area court in Ilorin, Kwara State on Thursday, May 8 restrained the Kwara State Football Association from holding her elective congress scheduled for June 13 at Kaiama local government area of the State.
The order was given by both Honourable J.S Adeniyi, the Presiding Judge and Honourable A.S Abdulyameen, Judge in view of the motion exparte dated and filed on May 7, by Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria(PFAN), the applicant and supported by an 11 paragraph affidavit deposed to by Ashifat Sulyman against the Chairman,Kwara State Football Association and Electoral committee, Kwara State football Association who are defendants and respondents.
PFAN in suit no UAC1/CVF/648/2023 is praying the court for an order mandating the named defendants to allow the plaintiff to participate in the forthcoming election into her executive committee.
It also prayed the court for an order mandating the defendants to recognize the plaintiff as one of the statutory delegates in the forthcoming Kwara State football association election.
The court in its exparte ruling restrained the defendants from conducting the elections scheduled for June 13 for the executive members of kwara state football association pending hearing of the motion of notice.
It also ordered that the motion on notice and other court processes in the suit should be served on the defendants.
The matter was adjourned to 14th day of June 2023 for hearing of the motion on notice in this suit.
