The host country, Cote D’Ivoire has defeated Nigeria to win the 2023 edition of the African Cup of Nations.
The Ivorians defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-1 to claim the trophy on Sunday.
Captain William Troost-Ekong had earlier sent the Nigerian team to the lead in the 38th minute of the first half with a fine header.

Coming back to the second half, the hosts increased their search for goal and it was Frank Kessie that got them an equaliser with a header in the 63rd minutes.
Fast forward to the last ten minutes of the game, Sebastian Haller tapped in a cross in the 81st minutes to complete the comeback for the Ivorian and seal their third ever AFCON title.
