Professor Abayomi Fashina Sunday, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit to chef Damilola Adeparusi, who is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The Informant247 gathered that Chef Dami’s target is to set a new 120-hour world cooking record, whereas she has hit 111 hours as of the time of filing this report.

The marathon cooking is held in Oye Local Government Area in Ekiti State.

Meanwhile, Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has been announced as the new record holder on Tuesday, by Guinness World Records for the longest cooking by an individual.

The GWR in a statement on its website, said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

The Informant247 had reported that the 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
