CONYL lauds Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment

The Congress of Nigeria Youth Leaders (CONYL) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his dedication to youth empowerment, highlighting his administration’s efforts in education, job creation, and economic growth.

Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, CONYL’s National Coordinator, Hon. Yinka Dallas, commended President Tinubu for introducing policies that have improved opportunities for young Nigerians.

He pointed to the establishment of the National Education Data System, which, according to him, has helped to improve learning, increase school enrolment, and ensure academic security. He explained that the system provides real-time data on student performance and attendance, allowing the government to make better decisions.

Dallas also praised the student loan programme launched by the Tinubu administration, saying it has helped many underprivileged students pursue higher education without financial struggles. He described the initiative as a game-changer for young Nigerians.

Speaking on youth development, Dallas acknowledged the work of the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Olawande Ayobami, in implementing training and mentorship schemes.

He said that the government has provided vocational training, business funding, and start-up support for young entrepreneurs, creating more opportunities for self-reliance.

Arc Lamidi Akanbi, CONYL’s North Central Coordinator, also praised the Tinubu administration’s economic policies, which he said have created a more stable environment for businesses and job creation.

He noted that the government has invested in major infrastructure projects, including roads, railways, and energy, making it easier for businesses to grow and employ more young people.

Akanbi further highlighted the government’s support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), saying that young entrepreneurs now have better access to funding, training, and business support to help them succeed.

Dallas also commended Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, for his contributions to youth development.

He said that Seyi Tinubu has launched various empowerment programmes, including scholarships, vocational training, and mentorship initiatives, all aimed at helping young Nigerians achieve their goals.

In addition, Dallas praised Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his efforts in youth development and economic growth in the state.

The group expressed confidence that Tinubu’s policies will continue to benefit Nigerian youths and create more opportunities for them in the years to come.
