Confusion as police teargas ‘Obidients in Ebonyi’, disperse rally

There was commotion in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, where those supporting Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) were gathered on Saturday morning, for their one-million-man march.

The Informant247 gathered that the supporters of Obi who are popularly known as ‘Obidients’ were programmed to start from the People’s Club area.

Report has it that some thugs suspected to be working for another party in the State, invaded the area and scattered the location.

A source revealed that the police was also mobilized to the affected area, threw teargas canisters, and dispersed the gathering.

In a video which is going viral, the youths could be sighted running in different directions for safety, with smoke from the teargas billowing.

The Informant247 learnt that the Obidients have regrouped at the Mile 50 area of the State from where they would be staging the rally.
