Kwara 2027: Community leader, Ilias Sanni, declares for Ilorin East assembly seat
Community leader and architect, Ilias Sanni, has declared his intention to contest for the Kwara State House of Assembly seat representing Ilorin East in the 2027 general election, promising people first leadership, accountability and development driven representation.
Arch. Sanni announced his decision in a statement made available to newsmen over the weekend, where he said a new phase of leadership had begun in Ilorin East.
“For too long, Ilorin East Constituency has waited for leadership that puts people first. That changes now,” he said.
The aspirant, who is a seasoned architect and development consultant, said effective legislative representation requires more than political familiarity, stressing the need for practical knowledge in governance and project execution.
He emphasized that effective legislative representation demands more than political familiarity, stressing It requires practical expertise in budgeting, project management, and development planning.
He added that the constituency deserves a representative who understands how to attract and manage state resources for the benefit of the people.
“We need a leader who understands budgeting, project management, development, and how to attract state resources to our constituency. Not a talker. A doer,” he said.
“Keeping promises, transparent stewardship of funds, and being accountable to you, not just at election time but every single day that is the covenant I am making with you today.”
He called on residents of Ilorin East to support what he described as a new dawn of genuine representation.
“The dawn is here. Let’s walk into the light together. Support Arch Ilias Sanni for the future Ilorin East deserves,” he said.
The aspirant said consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the 12 wards of Ilorin East would begin immediately, while a formal campaign launch is expected in the coming weeks.
