Chelsea’s misery continues as citizens beat London boys 4-0 in FA Cup

Again,it was an effortless win for Manchester City on Sunday as they thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in the third round of the FA Cup.

The result was coming just three days after City defeated the Graham Potter’s boys 1-0 in the league game.

Opening the scoreline for the citizens was Riyad Mahrez who turned in a superb free kick to herald another great game for the Guardiola’s boys.

Mahrez , who had scored the lone goal in his team’s league game win over the London side three days earlier would eventually seal up the day for the Premier league champions when he scored a spot kick to make it four in the 85th minute.

Meanwhile, World Cup winner Julian Alvarez had earlier scored a penalty in the first half to double the lead for the host before Phil Foden’s effort made sure that they had three goals advantage going in to the break.

City have now defeated Chelsea on three occasions in the current season; EFL Cup, League match and now the FA Cup

The result further Compounds the misery of Graham Potter and his boys who have only picked up a win in their last six games.

Having been knocked out of the EFL Cup and FA Cup, the blues are now left in the Champions league and Premier league.
