The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu through a press release signed by his Media Aide, Ibrahim Sheriff A., revealed that the ongoing citizens participation in Kwara state budgetary process is to engender inclusive governance and people oriented development across the State.
Danladi made this claim while addressing participants at the Kwara North Town Hall Meeting for Citizens participation in the 2021 Kwara state government budget, held at Moro local government headquarters Bode Saadu.
The speaker said, “As a government of the people, we have come to listen to your plights and ensure the budget reflects the needs of our people. As representatives, we are not unaware of the numerous developmental challenges of Kwara North, but we need to hear directly from various stakeholders for us to set our priorities right.”
He, however, admonished young people and women to come formulate innovative ideas fit to foster sustainable youth and women employment and empowerment rate in the State.
Danladi said that the 2020 budget performance so far is something to write home and has, to a reasonable extent, stirred positive impacts on socioe-conomic evolution of the State, charging the Kwaran populace not to rest on their laurels.
