There was a mid drama in Ilorin today when some individuals identified to be members of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), in their multitude, invaded the premises of Government High School, Adeta in Ilorin, at about 1pm, to disrupt academic activities of the school.
THE INFORMANT247 correspondent who was at the scene of the incidence gathered that the group walked into the school compound without approval from the management which threw the school community into panic.
Speaking with a teacher under the condition of anonymity, he said, “School Activities was going smoothly as it’s expected not until they came in without the notice of anybody, they were so aggressive in their approach, the students were oppressed that most of them were jumping out of the window at the site of the shabby men marching and making invocation. It was a terrible moment for it caused a great distress among the students and the management.
“We call on the whole of Adewole community and the Kwara State government to look into the debacle as such continuity will be a threat to our educational system and the welfare of the state populace. We have to send the students home because of their (OPC) unannounced visit,” he concluded.
All efforts to contact the principal of the school proved abortive till time of filling this report.
