[Breaking] COVID-19: Kwara govt summons Ali-Agan, Haroon for flouting directive
The Kwara State Government has invited a former Grand Khadi of Sharia Court, Justice Idris Haroon and Abubakr Ali-Agan before Technical Committee set up for the COVID-19 pandemic over their alleged violation to the state government lockdown order, FRESH INSIGHT Newspaper reports.
The Kwara State Government had ordered the restriction of the number of persons in any gathering to 10 and ban on congregation religious service as part of partial lockdown to curb the community transmission of the novel coronavirus.
THE INFORMANT247 earlier on Monday reported the calls for the arrest of Abubakr Ali-Agan by Kwarans.
Also, an editorial was published on Monday by THE INFORMANT247 called for investigation and prosecution of both Haroon and Ali-Agan.
In violation of this order, Ali-Agan reportedly held a jumaat prayer while the former jurist also held a wedding ceremony.
A member of the COVID-19 committee, Honourable Rasaq Owolabi, exclusively told Fresh Insight TV, that the committee has written an invitation letter to the scholars and they will appear before it tomorrow by 10am.
He said they must come before the committee to explain why they allegedly acted in fragrant violation of the government order.
