Bella Shmurda vows not to pay last respects to Mohbad until justice is served
Popular Nigerian musician, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, known as Bella Shmurda, has firmly stated that he will not pay his last respects to the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, until those responsible for his death are brought to justice.
Mohbad’s demise occurred last Tuesday and was followed by a controversial burial that raised concerns due to the lack of a befitting farewell for the prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
Worries have been expressed regarding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death, with questions surrounding the adequacy of his burial considering his stature in the entertainment world.
Nigerian youths, particularly fans of Mohbad, have taken to social media to demand justice for him, and some have even taken to the streets in Lagos, Ogun, and Delta states to voice their concerns.
Bella Shmurda addressed Mohbad’s death on Monday, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Until those who oppress him face justice and are sentenced, nothing like last respect. Igboro be aware (Let the street know).”
In response to these demands and concerns, the Lagos State Police Command took action by inaugurating a 13-man special investigation team on Monday to probe the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Furthermore, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has issued a directive for the state Police Command, in collaboration with the Department of State Service (DSS), to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
