Following the fracas that ensued in Ilesha Baruba on Friday morning involving some community residents and operatives of the Federal Government’s Joint Task Force on Border Patrol, Kwara Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described the incident as “sad, unfortunate and definitely avoidable”.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor reads, “The Governor sincerely commiserates with the Emir of Ilesha Baruba Prof. Halidu Abubakar and families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident and definitely avoidable.”
The governor also promised to restore peace in the community by sending “a government delegation” to the area to establish all the facts and forestall a repeat of the sad incident.
It was also contained that the Governor has been in constant touch with the Traditional leader of the community to find a lasting solution to the fracas so as to avoid future occurrences.
