Barcelona President meets Messi’s father amid transfer talks

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that he recently met with Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge Messi.

The revelation is coming at a time when Messi is still yet to decide on his future move at PSG.

Many have predicted that the meeting between Laporta and Jorge and left open the possibility of a summer transfer.

According to Laporta,he met with Messi’s father to discuss a wide range of subjects, including a potential tribute match for the World Cup winner.

However, the Blaugrana president didn’t confirm nor deny whether a summer transfer was brought up.

I met Jorge Messi yes,” Laporta said. “We talked about the World Cup and a tribute match for Leo. He’s at PSG right now, so I don’t want to speak about whether or not he could return” he said.

While several reports have linked Messi with a move away to MLS in America, a top Saudi Arabia club, Al Hilal are also interested in the seven time Baloon D’or winner with a return back to Barcelona also being mooted
