The National Industrial Court, NIC, in Abuja, on Tuesday, ruled out a law suit filed by the apex students body in Nigeria, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS.
The Industrial court has struck out the law suit filed by the student’s body, to enforce obedience on the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and the Federal Government to suspend the lingering industrial action.
Justice Polycarp Hamman has closed further legal proceedings in the case after the law suit was withdrawn by Umar Faruk Lawal, the factional President of NANS.
The Informant247 observes that Lawal had told the industrial court that he filed the law suit marked NICN/ABJ/273/2022 on behalf of the student’s association, NANS.
When the case was brought up on Tuesday, the factional president, notified the industrial court that he had filed a motion to discontinue the matter.
He revealed that his decision to withdraw the matter was because he was challenged by NANS, and that the association denied that he is the President of the student organization.
The Informant247 reports that Justice Hamman ruled out the matter.
