ASKOMP meets Kwara gov’s media aide, Jerry Kolo

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) on Tuesday had a tête à tête (meeting) with Mr Jerry Kolo, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, to the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Members of the organization under the Chairmanship of Salihu Shola Taofeek had an interactive tête à tête with the appointee at Kwara North Development Council (KWANDCO) Office in Ilorin, the state capital.

Speaking, Mr. Kolo solicited the support of the organization, stressing that the association is full of prominent and distinguished online media platforms with wide reach and connection.

Kolo while commending the contributions of ASKOMP, promised to make use of his office to enable favorable social environment for mutually benefiting relationship to achieve results.

The ex-Students’ leader said that the Governor has rebuilt Kwara State through the introduction of people’s oriented programmes and plans.

Earlier, the Chairman of ASKOMP, Salihu Shola Taofeek said the organization houses about 40 online media platforms with wide acceptability, experience and credible antecedents in the media industry.

Taofeek said ASKOMP members have made provision for sustainable employment for over 200 job-seekers and also made great contributions to the economy of the state with payment of taxes to government.

He said that the organization would not relentin upholding ethics of journalism and collaborate with others to rebrand the cyber space in Kwara State.

The Chairman added that members of the association honored his call due to the good rapport they have had with him from the time past.
