The Arewa young lawyers have unanimously approved the creation of Arewa Young Lawyers Forum AYLF.
In its Annual 2019 General Meeting which took place in Lagos following the just concluded NBA Annual General Conference also affirms the leadership of Kwara’s Olayinka Dauda Jimoh as the Chairman of the forum.
The meeting that witness high turnout of members also approved the composition of the Constitution drafting Committee, to be chaired by Sani S Idris, the Kaduna YLF Chairman and Summit Committee to be chaired by Abuja’s Dayo Ashonibare, a former Vice Chairman, National Council of NBA-YLF.

RESOLUTIONS OF THE AREWA YOUNG LAWYERS’ FORUM 2019 AT ITS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD AT EKO HOTEL, VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS ON 28th AUGUST, 2019.
WHEREAS the Arewa (AYLF) held its AGM on 28th day of August, 2019 at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Several issues of importance were considered by MEMBERS and unanimously RESOLVED as follows:
ESTABLISHMENT:
1. The AGM received a report from the CONVENERS in its Meeting as to the creation of AYLF in Abuja, 2018.
Consequently, the CREATION of AYLF was unanimously approved by the AGM.
LEADERSHIP
2. The AGM equally APPROVED the Leadership Positions of the following Members in substantive capacity into the three 3 geo political zones as follows:
NORTH-CENTRAL
a. O. D JIMOH – Chairman
ILORIN
b. Gotom Samson – Vice Chairman
JOS
c. Abdulsalam Hussaini – Provost
SULEJA
NORTH-WEST
d. Haruna Musa Mohammed – Secretary
KANO
e. Fumen Issac Gandu – Asst Secretary

f. Gbande Paul – Publicicy Secretary

It was further Resolved that the Leadership Positions SHALL be rotated, thus the Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship and provost zoned to North-West while the Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Publicity Secretary are zoned to North-East, North Central will take Welfare Director, Treasurer and Financial Secretary at the next election coming June, 2020.
3. The AGM directed the Executives to communicate the resolutions of the AYLF to the Parent Body: AREWA LAWYERS’ FORUM.
4. The Congress further DIRECTED that the Executive conduct ELECTION into various positions on or before June, 2020.
5. The CONGRESS further directed that:
a. The Executive should hand over Leadership of the Forum to the new Leaders in 2020 at the NBA Annual General Conference, 2020.
b. That AREWA Lawyers Forum Constitution be adopted by AYLF with modifications.
c. That Constitution Drafting Committee be constituted and the following membership approved for the committee at the Meeting:
i. Sani S. Idris (Kaduna) Chairman
ii Sadiq Maaji (Minna) Co Chairman
iii. Usman Ashafa (Kano) Member
iv. Yusuf Suleiman (Abuja) Member
v. G. H Ibn Mahmoud (ilorin) Member
vi. Yunusa Maihadasha (Kaduna) Member
vii. Ibrahim T. Manguno (Maiduguri) Secretary
The Committee has 30 days to submit its report to the Executive.
d, that Electoral Committee be Constituted after the report of the Constitution Drafting Committee for the purpose of elections of new Leaders.
e. That the Executive should organise SUMMIT in Abuja with the following Members approved:
