APC screens Kwara governor as sole aspirant for senate seat

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has screened AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the sole aspirant for the party’s Kwara Central Senatorial ticket ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

The screening exercise, held in Abuja by the APC Senatorial Aspirants’ Screening Committee, formed part of the party’s internal process aimed at ensuring that all aspirants seeking elective positions meet the constitutional and electoral requirements.

Governor AbdulRazaq, who is expected to complete his second term in office on May 29, 2027, emerged as the only aspirant to purchase the party’s Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the Kwara Central Senate seat.

His unopposed status is expected to give him a smooth path toward securing the APC ticket for the senatorial district.

The Kwara Central seat is currently occupied by Saliu Mustapha, who succeeded Ibrahim Oloriegbe in the 2023 general elections.
