APC reacts to NDLEA’s request for drug tests
The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has responded to the letter from the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA requesting aspirants for various offices in the party’s primaries be made to pass through a drug test.
Recall that the NDLEA under the chairmanship of Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd) last week lettered the APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, requesting that officials of the agency be given the chance to spearhead drug integrity tests for aspirants vying for political offices in the coming party’s primaries.
The chairman noted that the same gesture would be extended to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP and others when it’s time to conduct their party primaries.
.The spokesperson of the party, Barr. Felix Morka affirmed that the agency’s letter has been received by the party.
But, he noted that the contents of the letter have not been tabled for discourse by the National Working Committee NWC.
“We haven’t taken a position on it. We haven’t met on it”, Morka told newsmen.
