Another 47 killed as Plateau insecurity worsen

In a fresh attack on innocent citizens, at least 47 persons have been reportedly killed on Sunday night in the Zike community in Kimakpa communities, located in Kwall District of Bassa local government of Plateau State.

According to reports, the attack took place over a week after a similar one in Bokkos local government area, which claimed 52 lives with property worth millions destroyed.

The National Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, Danjuma Dickson Auta, while confirming the incident in Jos on Monday, said the attacks occurred around 8:00 pm resulting in the deaths of 47 people and leaving many others injured.

However, there is no official statement yet from Plateau Police Command as regards the latest development

The Plateau State Government expressed deep concerns over the alleged occupation of communities by armed groups, a situation that continues to fuel tensions across the region.
