The new opponent for Anthony Joshua is expected to be made this morning.
According to his promoter in a tweet, He posted a picture of Joshua on X (formerly known as Twitter) with the caption: ‘Update tomorrow morning. Stand by.’
The need for a new opponent became necessary after his fight against Dillian Whyte was cancelled due to the latter’s failed drugs test.
The fight was expected to be held at O2 Arena in London.
It also appears that Joshua would be taking a risk going up against a new opponent at such short notice.
Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn in an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday said he still believes so much that a fight will happen on Saturday.
‘I believe that fight will be signed and an announcement made on Monday night or first thing in the morning,’
‘The absolute plan is to have a show on Saturday night. It’s a minefield because everyone puts their name in the hat and the credible ones want £10m, a private jet and my left lower limb in the contract” he said
