Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti has been released from police detention.
The Informant247 recalls that the Lagos State Police Command last week Monday, detained Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti over an alleged assault on a police officer over the weekend.
Benjamin Hundenyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement via his official Twitter handle.
The PPRO said, “Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, in the early hours of today turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, in company of his lawyer and family representative. He has been placed under arrest.”
Meanwhile, Nigerian activist, Omoyele Sowore on Tuesday via his Twitter handle, announced that the music star has set free.
He wrote, “Just to announce that @RealSeunKuti has been released from @PoliceNG detention in Lagos. Hasta la victoria siempre!”
