Alagbado Community Applauds Maigida on bridge project

~motorist pleads with Government on early completion of project.

The people of Alagbado community and its environs in Ilorin East/South Local  Government of Kwara state have applauded the State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmad over the ongoing reconstruction of the collapsed Algbado bridge which links the sobi specialist hospital and the community with the Ilorin metropolis.

Speaking on behalf of the people, the Chairman of the joint Committe of Alagbado community and its environs, Mall. Ibrahim Abdullahi who expressed excitement over the gesture by the governor, said that the collapsed bridge which is handled by the Lafar  construction firm before now was a dead trap and has caused a lot of hardship not only to people of the community but the state at large.

Addressing some Journalists who visited the scene today, Mall. Abdullahi noted that apart from linking the city metropolis with the state specialist, the bridge when completed will attract and expand development to that part of the community and equally boost the economy of the place which has long collapsed with the bridge.

The chairman said, “we appreciate the Government over their listening hear. After several cries from the people of the community over the re-construction of the bridge, the Government has approved it and work is now ongoing.”

He added that according to the engineer in charge of the project, one Engr. Ade of the Lafar construction firm, explained that the first week will be for the demolition and evacuation of the debris of the collapsed collfit, while the second week is for soil test after which the real construction will commence.

“The first week, according to the Engineer in charge will be for the demolition and evacuation of the debris of the collapsed collfit, while the second week will be for the soil test after which the construction will begin when the soil test results is out. They are using 4months for the total reconstruction.”

However,  the chairman plead with the Government to ensure early completion of the project.
