The Ilorin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday handed over the sum of N263,327,800 which it recovered as looted funds from politicians and Civil Servants in Kwara State.
The governor, who disclosed this on his verified Facebook page, said about N373m has been handed over to the state government since inception of this administration.
AbdulRazaq said, “Today, @officialEFCC handed over to us another N263,327,800 that was recovered from some officials of the previous administration. This brings the looted funds handed to our administration so far to roughly N373m, including the N111m given to us last year. These figures form a part of the N8.5b worth of assets and cash that have been recovered in less than a year by the Kwara office of the EFCC.
“We thank the agency for all the recoveries. On our part, we will be judicious in utilising the fund. We will always remember that one day, we will leave this position we are today and we will be made accountable too. That is why we have to be responsible in what we do now.”
Recall that the antigraft commission late last year handed over the sum of N111,428,891.00 cash to the state governor as loot recovered from officials of the past administration.
