Accolades pour in for NCS official, Oloyede, for aiding community progress

Accolades have continued to pour in for the Deputy Superintendent of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Alhaji Jimoh Rasaq Oloyede who facilitated a developmental project, a non-custodian centre to his community in Igosun, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The non-custodian office was commissioned by the Comptroller of the correctional service, Kwara State command, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Usman and his Deputy, Mrs. Bamidele Abosede, yesterday (April 28th, 2021) at the Igosun monarch’s palace.
People have however started raining encomium on Oloyede for bringing an office that will help checkmate crime and also put Igosun on the world map.
The officer was said to have joined the service on February 4, 1998 as Assistant Inspector of Prison and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Superintendent of Corrections in 2017, the position occupy till now.
Ever since the commissioning of the project which was aimed to combat prevailing crime in the country, people from different fields have continued to eulogies the facilitator, Oloyede on the basis that his gesture was second to none in the area and should not go unappreciated.
The President of the Igosun Progressive Union (IPU), Chief Rafiu Oyeyemi Balogun, in his speech, lauded the efforts of the correction officer, saying he has demonstrated a high dose of love for his community.
He said, “I must acknowledge the commendable efforts of our own Alhaji Rasaq Oloyede, (Deputy Superintendent of Corrections) you have demonstrated your love for your community, we appreciate you greatly.”
Balogun also prayed that Oloyede shall continue to prosper and God Almighty will elevate him.
The Oba in council, headed by the Eesa of Igosun, Chief Afolabi Olatoke, while speaking with this medium, described Oloyede as a respectable, respectful, and humble person who could sacrifice anything for the betterment of his community.
“Oloyede is a lover of his father’s land and he’s so humble, I’ve known him since he was young as a peace lover, this attribute was demonstrated in how he brought every member of the community on board in the establishment of this laudable project.
“Oloyede came from a very reputable home in Igosun. He’s such a person who could sacrifice anything to ensure Igosun becomes a cynosure in the Oyun local government area.
“If Oloyede could be in a higher place, he will do more than this to attract good fortune to his motherland or to any member of the ancient town. If we could have more of his type in Nigeria, many communities wouldn’t have been languishing and many graduates who could not get jobs would have been helped.
“God will promote him more than this,” Eesa prayed.
Another member of the community who was also impressed by the project, Mr. Olaifa Gabriel, told this medium that Oloyede has done the most unforgettable thing to Igosun.
Gabriel, who is the Manager Energy Filling Station, said, “What he did will never be forgotten not even in a hurry, he’s a member of my club, Unity Brother’s Club and I can testify of his impact. Oloyede loves Igosun. This kind of project will scare bad boys away, to me it’s a welcome development.”
For her part, Mrs. Omolara Bolanle nee Oloyede expressed joy over the non-custodial office saying “it’s a great development in town and we’re very happy that he can facilitate such”.
The Assistant Superintendent of Corrections, Bashiru Busari, has gone on social media to appreciate his boss whom he described as a dogged fighter.
“You are a dogged fighter, your effort is a reflection of your love and loyalty to the Correctional service and Igosun as a whole, little wonder you succeeded in influencing the employment of our youths both at the state and federal levels,” he added.
Oloyede while responding to people’s reactions over his gesture, appreciated God whom he said placed him in the Correction service to help lives saying he won’t rest on his oars.
The Correctional Service officer however appreciated everyone who has contributed their financial quota to make the dream a reality praying that Igosun will always wax stronger.
“Whatever position one occupies in life, should be used to better others because we don’t know where we will be tomorrow and no position is permanent. This is what informed my efforts to ensure Igosun is better, stronger and progress in all areas,” Oloyede said.
Others on the roll call of eminent personalities at the commissioning event are; The Transition Implementation (TIC) Chairman of Oyun LGA, Dr. Abdulwaheed Ibrahim, and his vice, Mrs. Ayo Abioye among several others.
