Abiola’s Daughter: Yahaya Bello will realize my mother’s dream for Nigeria

Ms Hafsat Abiola-Costello, Director-General (DG) of Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation, has said that Yahaya Bello presidency will bring to reality, the beautiful dream her late mother, Kudirat Abiola, had for Nigeria, and for Nigerian women.

The DG said this on Wednesday in Akure, Ondo State capital, while addressing newsmen at a rally tagged: “South West Mega Women Rally for Yahaya Bello”.

Hafsat Abiola-Castello is the daughter of Kudirat, late Chief MKO Abiola’s wife.

MKO Abiola was the acclaimed winner of the annulled 1993 presidential election.

The June 12, 1993 presidential election won by MKO Abiola was adjudged to be free and fair presidential election; was canceled by General Ibrahim Badmus Babangida, the then head of state.

It was gathered that the women disregarded the heavy rainfall, occupied the streets and held in their hands placards of various inscriptions such as; “We’re not interested in zoning, this is one Nigeria”, “Yahaya Bello, the best man for the job”, and “Yahaya Bello, hero of women inclusion,” among others.

The young Abiola said the women of Nigeria had made the decision of taking their destinies in their hands. She however described Bello as the only governor that has empowered women and also given women a voice.

“Seeing this huge honest crowd, I am confident that Yahaya Bello’s good deeds, belief in women, and giant strides in a women-filled government, have earned him the trust of Nigerian women.

“And I assure you, he will never forsake you. He has demonstrated this loudly in Kogi,” she noted.
