9 Sex Slaves Rescued as Police Arrest Hotel Proprietor in Anambra

In a commendable operation, the police in Anambra State successfully rescued nine girls who were being exploited as sex slaves in an undisclosed hotel within the state.

During the rescue mission, the proprietor of the hotel was apprehended.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga, provided details of the operation to journalists in Awka, the capital city, on Monday.

According to Ikenga, the girls had been lured from Ebonyi, Enugu, Akwa-Ibom, and Rivers states under the false pretense of offering them employment to alleviate their difficult circumstances.

The successful rescue operation was initiated based on vital information received from the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare.

The Anambra State Police command is determined to combat all forms of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals within the state.
