Ahead of the diamond jubilee of the Nigeria’s independence, the Kwara State Government has called on countrymen to embark on fervent prayers to sumount challenges confronting the nation’s breakthrough in order to achieve restoration of peace and harmony.
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, made the call at the Special Jumat Service on Friday to mark the 60th Independence Anniversary of the country.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Arc. Aliyu Mohammed Saifudeen, said the prayer is necessary to attract God’s mercy for total redemption and economic rejuvenation, as the country celebrates.
For his part, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion Maters, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmagero, reechoed the significance of prayers in the course of socio-economic and political reformation.
He said, “We need to pray for the nation. Everybody, starting from the government, the masses, should pray to bring Nigeria back to what it was in those good days.
Earlier during the service, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir Soliu, prayed for the state, the Governor and the country at large.
