No fewer than 58 students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, graduated with first class out of the 3892 graduating students from the school.
The convocation ceremony held on Monday has in attendance of the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, among others.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the school, Prof. Abdullahi Bala congratulated the graduands and further wished them well in their future endeavor.
He said, “I heartily congratulate our graduands and their parents on this occasion. We wish them the best of the future ahead. We believe that the knowledge, experience and contacts they have gathered from here will equip and strengthen them to confront the challenges of life and contribute to the society.
“This graduation is not the end of your journey to the Federal university of University of technology Minna. Your connection to the university community is a lifelong. We expect to see you often as valuable members of our alumni community.”
The event also featured the installation of the Deji of Akure and Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II as the Chancellor of the University by the Nigerian President
For his part, Oba Aladetoyinbo appreciated the president Muhammadu Buhari for considering him worthy of the position and therefore pledged to carry out his duty with diligence in accordance with the institution’s regulations.
