Guardiola reacts to Real Madrid release clause for Haaland

Pep Guardiola has dismissed the rumour around a specific Real Madrid release clause for Erling Haaland.

Speaking at City’s Champions league pre-match press conference on Wednesday, the gaffer argued that the report is totally untrue and the Striker is currently happy with the team.

“It’s not true, he has no release clause for Real Madrid or any other team. It’s not true, what can I say? “I have the feeling he is incredibly happy here and we will try with him/others to make him happy” said Pep

The Norwegian Striker was signed 19 goals in 12 games this season with city also recording three wins in their last group stage games to o stand top of Group G.

Haaland was signed up from Borussia Dortmund at beginning of the season by city after reportedly paying a release clause of €60 million and expect to pay £85.5m in total when agent fees, signing bonus and other costs are taken into account.

While Haaland have now scored 19 goals in 12 games so far this season, Man City, who thashed FC Copenhagen 5-0 on Wednesday night have now recorded three wins in their last group stage games leaving them to the top of group G with 9 points.
