The Police Command in Rivers State has confirmed the freedom of 4 out of the passengers abducted along the Emohua/Kalabari axis of the East-West road in the state last Saturday.
The spokesperson of the Police Command in the state, Grace-Iringe-Koko who made this revelation in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, said the kidnapped victims were set free on Monday night.
The police spokesman, however, sent message of appeal to the victims to forward report to the police command to ease the freedom of other victims who were still in captivity.
She gave assurance to road users that “tactical teams” of the police have been strategically mobilized to the affected area for protection of lives and properties.
SP Iringe-Koko has also called on four chairmen of local government council around the Emohua Kalabri road to work in “synergy with security operatives” to ease the arrest and prosecution of the abductors.
The news of whether any ransom for the release of the kidnapped victims was paid or not was not ascertained.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that five passengers of a commercial vehicle were abducted on Saturday around 8pm along the Emohua, Kalabari axis of the East-West road.
