4 days to election, Kwara Labour Party suspends gov’ship candidate, Abubakar

The Kwara State Chapter of the Labour Party, LP has indefinitely suspended its governorship candidate, Basambo Abubakar over alleged dissemination of misleading information to members of the public and anti-party activities.

This came about 4 days to the Saturday March 18, 2023 governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Comrade Abubakar on Monday revealed that the political platform on which he’s contesting; Labour Party would be working together with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in the governorship elections.

A former aide to the former Senate President Bukola Saraki, said that the LP and the PDP need to unite to ensure a prosperous Kwara state.

While addressing newsmen in Ilorin, the capital of the state, the chairman of the LP in the state, Comrade Kehinde Rotimi, denied the claim of the governorship candidate, affirming that the party has no political alliance with any governorship candidate or political party in the state ahead of the elections.

The chairman said all House of Assembly candidates contesting on the platform of the party are still in the race, imploring members of the public to vote Labour Party on Saturday.
