The Action Democratic Party on Saturday 15th June, 2019 organised a get-together to marked the second anniversary of the party. The occasion which turned out to be a gangbusters was graced by party dignataries such as: Shina Ajisafe, Party Chairman; Bello M. Jimoh, Party Secretary; Saka Okanlawon, Party Treasurer; Barr. Remi Balogun, Legal Adviser; AbdulGaniyu Omolabi, State Welfare; Maryam Ahmad, State Women leader; AbdulRasaq Aparo, Kwara Central party leader; Ogunniyi Kayode, Ekiti L.G Chairman and many others.
The Chairman of the Party, Mr. Ajisafe began his opening speech by expressing his unabridged appreciation to the party’s faithful at national, state and local government levels, he further felicitated with governor Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq and pray for guidance and wisdom for him to paddle the canoe of the state to the next level.
He continued by claiming that the get-together marked another threshold in the history of the party as the burning agenda of the founding fathers of the party are to provide Nigerians an alternative platform and chart a course for the socio-economic developments of the state and nation at large.
The chairman disclosed that Kwara state is instrumental to the party gaining limelight and popularity when the party made its debut in the November 18th, 2017 Local Government Elections fielded chairmanship candidate in Edu Local Government and two Councillorship candidates in Patigi and Ilorin South Government respectively.
Mr. Ajisafe further revealed the party alongside other progressive parties established a formidable front with the All progressive Party (APC) for the electoral victory of governor Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq in the last general elections.
In his closing remark, he stressed the Action Democratic Party (ADP) is disposed to creating a credible alternative platform for Nigerians. And it will explore every possible avenue to better the lives of indigents Nigerians.
