22-yr-old man bags 8 months imprisonment for theft, burglary in Ogun

A 22-year-old man, Ibor Thank-God, was on Friday sentenced to eight months imprisonment for theft and break-in.

He was sentenced by an Ota Magistrates ‘Court in Ogun.

Thank-God appeared in court on a three-count charge which border on stealing, burglary and conspiracy.

He was accused of illegally invading a house and illegally taking away three stabilisers and other items worth N284,000.

The convict, whose address of residence was not disclosed, had pleaded guilty to offences of which he has been charged.

Mrs  A.O. Adeyemi, the Magistrate, sentenced Thank-God to eight months imprisonment, without giving him any option of fine.

Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, who’s the prosecutor earlier, informed the court that Thank-God and others, carried out the offences on September 5, at 12.30 a.m., at Km 111, close to Zenith Bank, along Idi-Iroko road, Ota.

Adaraloye revealed that the convict and his accomplices involved in a conspiracy to illegally invading the shop of Nancy Enyioma, the complainant, and illegally took away a fridge, three stabilisers and others essential items worth N284,000.

He also revealed that the offences were in contravention of the provisions of sections 390(4), 413(1)(2) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
