2,150 intending pilgrims ready to perform 2025 Hajj in Kwara
The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, has announced that a total of 2,150 intending pilgrims from the state have fully paid for this year’s Hajj exercise.
This was disclosed during an enlightenment program and special prayer held for the pilgrims at the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Alhaji Abdulkadir disclosed that fewer than thirty individuals have yet to complete their payments. He emphasized that Hajj is not a tourism opportunity but a fundamental pillar of Islam that demands sincere intentions. He encouraged the pilgrims to act as positive representatives of both Kwara and Nigeria during their pilgrimage.
In his address, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu, who serves as this year’s Amirul-Hajj, urged the pilgrims to remain patient and to avoid social media distractions, which can detract from the spiritual experience. He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for ensuring the provision of essential facilities to facilitate a smooth Hajj process.
Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, also addressed the gathering, urging pilgrims to adhere to the board’s regulations to ensure a successful Hajj experience.
Additionally, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, the Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, represented by Imam Kamaldeen Sofiulahi, reminded the pilgrims to maintain a consciousness of Allah throughout the pilgrimage.
During the event, Imam Imale of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulhamid, led other Muslim scholars in a special prayer, asking for a successful Hajj, which he stated could only be achieved through the will of Allah.
