2027: Wike hits back at Mark, Amaechi, Tambuwal, other ADC leaders for lacking impact during their tenure

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), has launched a scathing attack on the leaders of the coalition that recently took control of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). During a media parley on Thursday, Wike criticized the politicians now positioning themselves as “rescuers” of Nigeria, stating that many of them once held significant power but failed to deliver meaningful change.

Speaking about David Mark, the newly appointed interim national chairman of the ADC, Wike emphasized, “I heard David Mark say Nigerians are angry and that they want to rescue the country. But he was the senate president for eight years. Was there any project in Otukpo? Not one.”

Wike further pointed out that Mark’s political relevancy has diminished, highlighting that even his daughter was elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing the coalition’s figures, Wike remarked on Rotimi Amaechi’s involvement, accusing the former transportation minister of burdening Nigeria with substantial Chinese debt. He stated, “Amaechi took Chinese loans and buried Nigeria in debt. But they say Nigerians were happy then.”

The FCT minister also did not spare other politicians, questioning their records in office and the impact of their policies. “Tambuwal was speaker for four years and governor for eight. What exactly did he do to reduce the anger of Nigerians?” he asked.

Wike concluded his remarks by asserting that only a truly united and restructured PDP could pose a serious challenge to the ruling APC in the upcoming elections.
