Kwara central 2027: ‘I will defeat Gov. AbdulRazaq before 1 o’clock’ — Saliu Mustapha

Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, has expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the 2027 governorship election.

Mustapha made the assertion while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.

Responding to a question from Okinbaloye on whether he could defeat the incumbent governor in an election, the senator gave a confident response, saying he would win the contest “before 12 noon.”

Mustapha was speaking in the context of his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pursue the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), amid the ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 election.

Explaining his political move, the senator said his decision was not an individual one, stressing that it was a collective decision involving members of the G15 political group.

He also alleged that Governor AbdulRazaq had always been threatened by his popularity, suggesting that the governor’s concerns about his political influence had contributed to the strained relationship between them.
