2027: Call for equity as Ajani Abiola Joshua declares Edu/Moro/Patigi Reps bid

Hon. Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua (FCNA) has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration, held on Friday at Junior Secondary School, Tsaragi, attracted supporters, party members, and stakeholders from across the constituency.

Ahead of the event, the aspirant paid a courtesy visit to the Etsu of Tsaragi, Alhaji Abdullahi Kpotwa Yahaya, where he sought royal blessings. The monarch offered prayers and urged peaceful and purposeful leadership.

He was later received at the venue by supporters who gathered in large numbers.

Some stakeholders who spoke at the event expressed support for his aspiration.

In his remarks, a former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Yisa Benjamin, called for equity in representation within the constituency.

“Moro Local Government has never produced a member of the House of Representatives in the history of Kwara State. This is Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal Constituency, not just Edu/Patigi. It is only fair that Moro is given the opportunity now,” he said.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Livestock, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed, commended the aspirant’s contributions and expressed confidence in his capacity.

Hon. Alhassan Mariam, in her remarks, described the aspirant as committed to the welfare of his people.

The declaration marks the formal entry of Ajani into the race for the Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
