2023 polls: Tinubu reacts to Lagos results, calls for calm

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reacted to his defeat in his home state (Lagos State) in the presidential election.

He called on the residents of the state to remain calm and maintain law and order.

Tinubu told the residents not to be provoked by the results of the election in Lagos.

The Informant247 earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) won the presidential election in Lagos State which is Tinubu’s home state.

Tinubu while reacting to the development said the beauty of democracy is to give people the opportunity to choose the candidate of their choice.

The presidential candidate further revealed he’s a democrat who would welcome the results of any election whether favourable or not.

The spokesperson of the presidential campaign council, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, in a statement on Monday, February 27, 2023 said: “The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some. We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” the statement reads.
